Happy Birthday Sourdough Surprises!!! Thank you all so much for joining us for such a fun filled year! We have made so many delicious things with our starters, and we cannot wait to share even more with you in the next year!
Sourdough Pasta Recipe (Sourdough Surprises)

Because this is our One Year Anniversary we wanted to share with you how it all began. Jenni and Shelley had been trading sourdough recipes. Jenni made pasta with her starter and told Shelley. Shelley made it and loved it.  She told Ruth, she mentioned it to Lisa, and soon we were having an awesome four-way phone call discussing what we were going to do next. That was how Sourdough Surprises came to be, and so we figured that this would be the perfect time to introduce you to what started it all. Pasta.  Homemade pasta is easy and delicious, versatile and oh so fun! What can you do with yours?

Sourdough Pasta Recipe (Sourdough Surprises)

We recommend you use this recipe, which lends itself to all pasta shapes really well. Be creative - flavor it, top it, fill it - the possibilities are endless and we are so excited to see what you do with this! This pasta is a "rustic" type pasta, and because it has wild yeast in it, it will never be ultra paper thin. Please be aware of this as you are deciding what to make and how to use it.

Want to join in on the fun? Awesome! All you have to do is follow these simple steps:

How to participate this month:

1. Make some awesome pasta that includes your sourdough starter!
2. Take some pretty photos and blog about it on April 20, 2013.
